The Tub Chair is a striking and brilliant example of designer Hans Wegner’s innovative courage, and at the same time it is a most practical, usable, and comfortable chair. The chair's characteristic shape is achieved by bending the veneer shell in two different directions. Though designed in 1954, this double-bending process was too complex for the technologies of the time; it was not until 2014 that the Tub Chair could finally be put into production with the advent of modern 3D veneer techniques. The fine woodwork and upholstery is complemented with an elegant metal mechanism that allows the angle of the back to be adjusted.
